Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information ASAAL collects through this website and what we do with it. ASAAL hasn’t launched: nothing is for sale and we don’t take payments. The launch list
When you join the launch list we collect:
- your email address;
- your first name, if you choose to give it;
- the oils you ticked, if any. These show interest only and aren’t orders;
- a record of your consent: which boxes you ticked, the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time, and which part of the site you signed up from.
We don’t record your IP address with your sign-up. To stop automated spam, the server briefly counts sign-ups per network using a one-way code that can’t be turned back into an IP address.
Why we use it
- Launch emails (required to join): to tell you when ASAAL launches and about the oils you picked. Our lawful basis is your consent.
- News and offers after launch (only if you tick the separate, optional box): occasional emails about ASAAL. Our lawful basis is your consent.
- Deciding what to stock: we count how many people picked each oil. We only look at the totals for this.
You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing hello@asaal.co.uk. Unsubscribing stops all our emails.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information or share it for other companies’ marketing. We use these services to run the website and our email:
- Netlify: hosts this website and stores the launch list. Netlify is based in the United States. [Confirm the safeguard Netlify uses for UK data transfers before publishing.]
- Zoho Mail (EU data centre): our hello@asaal.co.uk mailbox, for emails you send us.
- [Email sending service, if one is used for launch emails, with its location and safeguards.]
- Google Fonts: this site loads its fonts from Google, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which see your IP address.
How long we keep it
- Launch-list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. [If ASAAL doesn’t launch, or 12 months after launch for people who didn’t opt into news, we delete them. Confirm this period.]
- If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address, the unsubscribe date and your consent history, so we can prove we stopped and make sure we don’t email you again by mistake. Ask us to delete this too, and we will.
- Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to answer you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email hello@asaal.co.uk and we’ll reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and browser storage
We don’t use tracking or advertising cookies, or analytics. Your browser’s storage remembers whether you’ve already seen the opening animation during this visit. Nothing is sent to us.
When we start selling
This policy will be updated before ASAAL takes any orders, to cover order details, payments, delivery and record-keeping. We’ll tell people on the launch list about the change.
